Home Reversion Plans are technically sale and lease agreements and are currently available to the over 65’s.
A percentage of your property is sold to a provider for a cash lump sum, an income or both. You will be paid less than the full market value of your home. The percentage of the value of your home which you will be paid is dependant on your age at application. The older you are at application, the higher the amount you will be paid. Some plans will allow you to release further percentages if required at a later date.
With the sale of part of your home, you will be given a lifetime lease to your property so that you can remain living there until you die, move out of your home or move into care. When this happens, the sale of the property reimburses the lender by the percentage they own which leaves the remainder to you or your estate.
Think carefully before securing other debts against your home. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
A fee of £895 is charged for our services and £295 for a Further Advance, payable upon completion of your mortgage. We will also be paid commission from the provider.
